Crewmen aboard Enterprise CV-6 examine damage from the third bomb to strike the ship during the Battle of the Eastern Solomons, 24 August 1942. This bomb, which detonated on impact, disabled the No. 2 elevator (the outline of which can be seen) as well as a torpedo elevator.
