Enterprise CV-6 (nearest camera) in Brooklyn Navy Yard, 22 June 1958, less than two weeks before she was sold for scrap. On the opposite side of the pier, Independence CVA-62 is fitting out.

Her flight deck deserted, engines cold, and stripped of her guns and radar, the Big E is a shadow of her wartime self.
