The Japanese aircraft carrier Zuikaku, on the date of her commissioning, 25 September 1941. Zuikaku, and her sistership Shokaku, were the most powerful carriers Japan produced, capable of carrying 72 strike aircraft and of speeds up to 35 knots.

Enterprise faced Zuikaku on at least four occasions: Eastern Solomons, Santa Cruz, Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf. She was sunk on 25 October 1944 during the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
