Plane handlers gather around a Bombing Twenty SB2C Helldiver that has crashed on Enterprise CV-6's flight deck, 2 September 1944. The pilot, LT Russell S. Wilcox, and radioman, Walter D. Frierson ARM 2/c, received only minor cuts and bruises. The plane, which landed tail high, missing all the arresting cables, was a total loss.
