Photographer's Mate Robert F. Read, in a Navy publicity photo. Transferred from Ship's Company to Enterprise's Fighting Squadron Six in May 1942, Read was killed during the Battle of the Eastern Solomons, 24 August 1942, as he photographed an aerial attack from an anti-aircraft gun platform aboard Enterprise CV-6.
