The Torpedo Ten TBF Avenger (T-45) piloted by ENS Carroll Farrell, shot down by enemy AA fire over Truk Atoll, 30 April 1944. Farrell and his crewmen - Joseph Hranek ARM 2/c and Owen Tabrum AMM 2/c - can be seen in their raft, moments after escaping the sinking plane. All three men were soon picked up by an OS2U Kingfisher, and then transferred to the submarine Tang SS-306.
