Admiral Halsey's barge, photographed from Tabberer DE-418, sometime in 1944-1945. The barge was a fully-enclosed, comfortable craft for transporting flag officers between ships and from ships to shore stations.

Robert Colson, who submitted this photo, was assigned the port stern position on the barge (same positition as the sailor on the right in this photo) in 1941-1942, when Enterprise was Halsey's flagship. He recalls "The Barge was snow white except fot the  metal  roof over the passenger compartment which was a bright rich navy blue. The upholstered leather seats were red. The roof had a lot of fancy rope work hanging down from it all around."

Photo taken by LT Arthur F. Carpentier of Tabberer DE-418.
