The Most Decorated Ship of the Second World War

Two Air Group Ten SBDs overfly their home base: Enterprise CV-6. Photo probably taken in June 1944. A rugged and effective dive bomber, the SBD "Dauntless" was credited with sinking 300,000 tons of enemy shipping, and downing 138 Japanese planes, against losses of 80 of the "Slow But Deadly" Dauntless.
