Damage control teams approach a burning VT(N)-90 Hellcat, set afire by a near miss, 11 April 1945. The shock of the enemy bomb exploding near the ship's bow disabled a water pump, so no pressure went to the fire hoses. Before a second pump could be brought on line, the burning plane was catapulted off the deck, eliminating the worst of the fire.
