Flight deck crews attempt to rescue crewmen in a VT(N)-90 Avenger which toppled overboard, 25 January 1945. The plane, piloted by Ensign Knox O. Scott, caught an arresting wire but went over the side, breaking in half. ENS Scott and one crewman were rescued. The second crewman, W. D. Crowley ARM 3/c, perished.
