Newspaper sketch of the Pearl Harbor raid, published 9 December 1941. Radio intelligence had suggested one or more enemy carriers operated south of Oahu during the attack (as shown in the sketch). In fact, no Japanese ships were in that area, though US forces - including Enterprise CV-6's Air Group - conducted intensive searches there the day of the attack.
