A Fighting Six Wildcat takes off from Enterprise CV-6, while she operates in the South Pacific, 15 May 1942. Enterprise and her task force were sighted by a Japanese snooper this day, leading Japanese intelligence to believe American carriers might still be in the South Pacific in early June ... not in position to oppose the Japanese assault on Midway.
