Damage control teams battle a fire in Enterprise CV-6's Group 3 5" gun gallery during the Battle of the Eastern Solomons, 24 August 1942. In the space of a few minutes, Enterprise was struck by three enemy bombs. The 5" gun gallery was demolished by the second hit, which killed 38 men instantly.
