LCDR William I. Martin is returned to Enterprise, after being shot down over Saipan, June 1944.

Torpedo Ten Commanding Officer LCDR William I. Martin is returned to Enterprise by breeches buoy from destroyer MacDonough DD-351, 14 June 1944. Martin's plane had been brought down by enemy fire over Saipan the day before.
